Two weeks from today, over 150 policymakers, academics, entrepreneurs, and activists will gather in Dublin for the Global Medical Cannabis Summit, an international conference focused on the future of Europe's growing medical cannabis industry. Curated by VolteFace (a UK-based innovation hub for drug policy reform) and Help Not Harm (an Irish advocacy campaign), the event will feature four panels featuring 14 of the world's leading medical cannabis experts. Each panel will address one of four themes relevant to the future of medical cannabis in Europe and beyond: science, policy, advocacy, and business.
Two speakers from Privateer Holdings will be presenting on panels at the summit. Dr. Catherine Jacobson, the Director of Clinical Research at Tilray, will be speaking on a morning panel entitled "Scientific Breakthroughs in Medical Cannabis Research." A PhD neuroscientist, Dr. Jacobson was recently featured on PBS NewsHour in a segment about advancements in our knowledge of medical cannabis.
In the afternoon, Privateer's Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Zack Hutson, will discuss the medical cannabis industry on a panel entitled "Growing Up Fast: An Ever-Evolving Industry." An accomplished professional with extensive experience in corporate and government communications and relations, Mr. Hutson was the recipient of PRWeek's award for Investor-Financial Communications Campaign of the Year in 2016.
Both Tilray and Leafly are sponsors of the Global Medical Cannabis Summit. Tilray and Leafly are both committed to advancing our knowledge of medical cannabis and are proud to support events that allow for diverse and impactful discussions about the subject.
A first-of-its-kind gathering, the Global Medical Cannabis Summit will take place on Wednesday, September 14 at Dublin's Smock Alley Theatre. Those interested in attending should visit the event's website for ticketing information and additional logistical details.
